- ELO Description: Brown University Computer Science will have college students teaching high school students how to design, develop, and upload their own Android applications for smartphones.
- ELO Description: AS220 will work with students to learn digital media skills involved in video game development. ELO participants will specifically gain skills in 3D modeling, UV mapping, and digital painting. They will create assets and characters and work to integrate these into a video game.
- ELO Description: Ashoka's Youth Venture will lead social entrepreneur classes for JSEC ELO students. Through this program, entrepreneur teams will learn how to develop a business plan and pitch their idea to investors for seed funding.
- ELO Description: Engineers Without Borders will place students with a small group of engineering students from Brown University on short term technology projects which could include LED displays, wiring, basic computer programming, arduino microprocessors and more.
- ELO Description: The Environmental Justice League of Rhode Island will place students in their ECO Youth initiative that looks at the causes of climate change while giving them options to choose local alternatives to research and administer to educate on these issues and to teach students how to decrease their own “carbon footprint,” including: the Healthy Corner Store Initiative is a community campaign to add healthy options and variety to the food available at small markets in Providence and Pawtucket, where students would work with store owners, vendors, and community residents to make it easier for all families to find and cook healthy food; the Green D(RI)VE initiative where youth would work to convert a full-length bus to run on vegetable oil and locally produced biodiesel.
- ELO Description: English Language Learners initiative where through a combination of Rosetta Stone technology and personalized individual and group conversation and writing youth will further develop their English language skills.

- ELO Description: Plan USA participants will help in basic logistics of the Walk for Wells event: (1) Marketing and Promotion: Work closely with Youth Outreach and Marketing Coordinator (2) Administrative/ Logistics Coordinator: Work closely with the Youth Engagement Coordinator to shape logistics, coordinate administrative aspects of the event (3) Videographer/ Historian: Record all aspects of event planning and key contacts, Record (video, scrapbook, etc) event for future promotion and reference
- ELO Description: The Providence Youth Center will provide ELO participants with the opportunity to review the Youth Center's current financial literacy program, to drive the creation of a more youth friendly financial literacy program and workshop, recruit a team of peers to evaluate the workshop, and teach the program to other youth. The original youth participants and their team will host a financial literacy workshop for their peers; establishing a youth created and peer-taught program. Participants will be matched with a mentor from the financial industry who will serve as an industry contact for resources, feedback, and encouragement.
- ELO Description: Rhode Island Urban Debate League (RIUDL) will work with ELO students to train them to be leaders in their school's debate team and to actively participate in the RIUDL's statewide policy debate league. Students will work with the JSEC coach and Brown/college student coaching assistants to develop original research and arguments for use in RIUDL tournaments. They will also serve as debate ambassadors at JSEC, leading peer recruitment efforts and planning/leading practice drills and activities.
